Home tech support
A diagnostic first, remote or at the house, then a written quote for the fix. We keep a record of your setup, so the next visit starts from what we did last time.
What we handle
Everyday computer, printer, WiFi and account problems at home. Hardware repairs and new installations have their own pages.
- Slow or faulty computers, diagnosed and repaired, or we say it isn't worth it
- New laptop setup, with files, email and passwords moved across
- Printers showing offline, whether it is the connection, the driver or the settings
- WiFi dropping in parts of the house, whether it is the router, its placement or the walls
- Smart home faults, with any changes quoted
- Technology planning for a renovation, before construction begins
- Remote when that's enough, at the house when it isn't
For a computer hardware fault, see computer and laptop repair. For a new network, cameras or lighting, start from that service's page so we can assess the project before quoting. For an office, see hourly business support.
Repair or replace
We weigh the fault, the repair cost, the machine's condition and how you use it before recommending either. A repair is worth doing when the machine has years left and the fix costs less than a replacement. If it doesn't, we say so and tell you what to buy and what to skip. See new computer setup.
Record of your setup
Every visit ends with a written note of what we found, what we changed and what to watch, and the next visit starts from it. One household came to us after being told the files on an old network drive were gone. We copied the drives, recovered the files, rebuilt the network drive, and now run the off-site backup and service the computers on a schedule.
If you'd rather have the house looked after on a schedule, we agree the tasks, the hours and the charge in writing.
Pricing
A diagnostic first, then a written quote for the fix. Nothing starts until you approve it. Rates are on the pricing page.
