Our approach
George & Co Systems is a one-person IT company in Columbus. We build and look after the networks, servers, and systems that small businesses run on, and we bring the same standard of work into people's homes. One person owns your setup start to finish: the person who designs it installs it, documents it, and picks up the phone about it a year later.
One accountable person
When something breaks at 9am on a Tuesday, you don't want to explain your setup to a stranger. Every client here deals with the same person every time, and that person already knows the network, the server, and the history behind both. We don't subcontract, and never would without your written consent.
That's also why we keep the client list small enough to serve properly. We'd rather do fewer jobs well than many jobs adequately.
Documented, not memorized
A one-person shop has an obvious question hanging over it: what happens if that person is unavailable? Our answer is documentation. Every network we build, every server we manage, and every credential we hold is written down and handed over. Your systems are documented well enough that another competent technician could pick them up.
You own that documentation, the accounts, and the hardware. If you ever leave us, you leave with everything. We think that's exactly why clients stay.
Security as a default
Security isn't a product we sell you at the end. It's how the work is done: networks segmented so a compromised device can't reach everything, systems patched on a schedule, backups tested rather than assumed, and remote access set up deliberately instead of left on defaults.
Small businesses get attacked precisely because attackers assume nobody set things up carefully. We set things up carefully.
Local and on-site
We're based in Columbus and Bexley and we work where you are. Remote support covers the quick things, but networks, servers, and cabling are physical work, and plenty of problems only make sense once you're standing in the room. When on-site is what the job needs, we come to you.
Homes, held to the same standard
We started in homes, and we still do them: WiFi that reaches the whole house, cameras that record to hardware you own, automation that runs locally instead of through someone's cloud. The habits are the same as the business work. Neat cabling, clean wall plates, professional-grade equipment chosen to last, and continuous recordings that stay on your recorder rather than a vendor's server.
Consumer gear is designed to a price point. We install to a performance standard, and over five years that's usually the cheaper buy.
We'd rather earn your trust
We will never recommend hardware you don't need or a service plan you won't use. If your existing setup needs a configuration change rather than a replacement, we'll tell you that, even if it means less work for us.
Our business grows through referrals, not through selling people things they didn't ask for. That's a model we're comfortable with.
